Garden Design in Gravesend
Client Brief and Design Approach
For this newly built country house, the brief was to create a luxurious and multi-functional garden for entertaining, relaxing and year-round enjoyment. The design connects a grand driveway, raised terraces, a pool and hot tub, and formal guest house gardens with Mediterranean-inspired planting throughout.
Luxury Country Garden in Gravesend
Set within the grounds of a newly built country house, this expansive garden in Gravesend was redesigned to bring cohesion, luxury and functionality across its front and rear spaces. The brief was to create a welcoming arrival experience from the sweeping driveway and a rear garden centred around entertainment, relaxation and year-round enjoyment.
Raised terraces open directly from the rear doors, offering views across a generous lawn bordered by vibrant perennial planting. The outdoor pool and hot tub are positioned beside the gym and pool bar, framed by a Mediterranean-inspired planting scheme with aromatic herbs, tall grasses and sun-loving textures. Beyond this, more formal gardens wrap around the guest house, creating a structured contrast to the playful energy of the nearby basketball court.
The design goals included:
A grand and elegant arrival through the front driveway
Entertaining terraces that connect seamlessly to the house
A swimming pool and hot tub nestled within Mediterranean-style planting
A colourful, seasonal planting palette around the lawn
Defined formal gardens leading to the guest house and basketball court
